The Glover Park Group (GPG), a leading public affairs consulting firm, is seeking an experienced communications professional to join the firm’s fast-growing financial services communications practice. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. headquarters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as client-facing strategic lead for one of GPG’s leading financial services clients
- Provide strategic support for client team and oversight of client budget and ongoing projects
- Conceive, advocate for and manage the execution of creative communication campaigns aimed at driving customer acquisition of financial services products
- Craft persuasive strategic plans, messaging and related collateral materials that speak directly to client’s target audience
- Maintain expert knowledge of issues that impact the financial services sector and general consumer lifestyle
- Generate media outreach strategies and interact on a regular basis with personal finance, consumer and general interest press
- React quickly to emerging issues, urgent client requests and challenging media environment
- Contribute to firm’s new business process and efforts
ATTRIBUTES
- A BA/BS degree in a related field and 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Experience in consumer public relations, particularly in customer acquisition campaigns, and/or financial services public relations
- Experience in all aspects of strategic communications, message development, media relations and marketing
- Established media contacts in the personal finance, business or consumer press, including blogs, magazines, newspapers and broadcast outlets
- Proven leadership of complex projects and medium-to-large-sized account teams, communication and teamwork
