Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong understanding of accounting theory
- 2-3 years accounting/finance experience; CPA a plus, but not required
- Highly detail oriented and organized in work
- Ability to meet assigned deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
- Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction from manager to accomplish objectives
- Proficiency with email and Microsoft Office applications, particularly excel
- Proficiency with QuickBooks
- Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.
Responsibilities may include:
- Prepare supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule
- Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
- Analyze revenues, commissions and expenses to ensure they are recorded appropriately on a monthly basis
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations
- Assist with analyzing financial statement accounts on a monthly basis
- Assist with financial audits and tax return preparation
- Maintain document retention files for accounting department
- Maintain open and paid vendor files
- Review outstanding check log of possible abandoned checks
- Prepare Accounts Receivable Report detailing all past dues for media buy accounts
- Prepare month-end balance sheet review and reconcile any differences for the advertising payable account
- Review bimonthly payroll and posting
- Reconcile employee benefit accounts monthly
- Prepare bi-monthly check runs
- Prepare wire transfers
- Maintain and reconcile petty cash balance
- Post data to various ledgers, registers, journals and logs following established accounting techniques and procedures
- Invoice production and media buy jobs
- Issue vendor form 1099s at year end
