The Glover Park Group (GPG), a leading public affairs consulting firm, is seeking an insightful, sharp and experienced mid-level professional to join the firm’s energy & sustainability communications practice. This position is based in our Washington, D.C. headquarters.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as day-to-day contact on multiple energy & sustainability client accounts
- Build relationships with client contacts and provide proactive client counsel
- Manage multiple projects for multiple clients from concept to completion
- Counsel clients on media briefings
- Write and edit news releases, strategic plans, collateral and other client/media-facing materials
- Assist with media outreach strategies, including crafting and executing newsworthy pitches
- Maintain knowledge of evolving issues that impact the energy & sustainability sector
- Contribute to firm’s new business process and efforts
ATTRIBUTES
- Specific familiarity with progressive energy & sustainability issues, particularly climate change
- Extremely strong writing and communications skills
- Strong strategic thinking and long-term planning skills
- Ability to take initiative, manage people and deadlines, and multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- A BA/BS degree in a related field and 3-6 years of relevant experience
- Superior research and editing skills
- A demonstrated capacity for leadership, communication and teamwork
