Industry Veteran Julie Anbender Joins Public Affairs Team
WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 20, 2005 – The Glover Park Group, a leading strategic communications company, today announced the appointment of Julie Anbender to the position of Senior Vice President. She will join the firm’s growing public affairs division, bringing over 20 years of experience in building communications and media strategies around critical public policy issues.
Anbender joins The Glover Park Group from PBS, where she was Chief of Staff to the President, Pat Mitchell.
Anbender also served for six years as a Director in Burson-Marsteller’s public affairs practice, where she led the firm’s work for PBS, as well as other non-profit organizations and corporations who required effective communications efforts targeting policymakers and opinion leaders.
Anbender served in the Clinton administration as Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the US Department of Justice, managing communications efforts around key administration legislative initiatives and cases. She was also Counselor to the Commissioner of the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) and also served as Director of Public Affairs at the agency.
