Kopp brings unparalleled digital and social media expertise, cutting edge talent to GPG; bolsters firm’s commitment to New York market

New York, NY – January 9, 2013 – Today the Glover Park Group announced that Jonathan Kopp is joining the Glover Park Group (GPG) as the firm’s first Chief Interactive Strategist and Managing Director. Kopp’s impressive background—from major corporate and non-profit clients to Presidential campaigns and the White House—and focus on reimagining traditional communications within the rapidly evolving digital landscape, will bring proven and inventive leadership to GPG’s diverse variety of work. Kopp’s addition will bolster an already strong digital team and further enhance the firm’s ability to innovate and apply creativity and engagement to the transforming communication, political and business environment.

Kopp will join GPG’s leadership team and be based in GPG’s New York office, signaling the firm’s deep commitment to serving and growing its presence among New York-area clients. He will work on a wide range of account teams and clients everywhere GPG does business.

Since 2009, Kopp has served as a Partner at Ketchum and the Global Director of Ketchum Digital, where he created the Ketchum Global Digital Network and served as the firm’s worldwide leader on all aspects of engagement across the social web, from digital, social media and mobile strategy, program development and execution, as well as interactive design, graphics and video.

Before joining Ketchum, Kopp was a partner at SS+K, where he worked from 1997 to 2009 developing and executing multi-tactical campaigns involving PR, public affairs, marketing and advertising across all traditional and digital media. During the 2008 campaign, Kopp was a member of the Obama for America National Media Team, focusing on the youth vote in the battleground states.

Prior to his work in communications, Kopp practiced law in the Washington, D.C. office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher and served as a Law Clerk to the Counsel to the President in the Clinton administration. While at the White House he focused on Ethics in Government and US Senate approval of Presidential appointees, plus aspects of international law for the Legal Counsel to the National Security Advisor. He was also an Opposition Research analyst in the “War Room”of the Clinton/Gore 1992 Presidential campaign.

Kopp received a law degree from George Washington University and a bachelor's from Emory University.
