Kevin Madden to Join The Glover Park Group Public Affairs Practice
June 18, 2008
Washington, D.C. – The Glover Park Group announced that Kevin Madden, a prominent communications and political operative, will become Senior Vice President at the firm. Madden, who has served as a senior communicator for presidential campaigns and Congressional leadership, will join Glover Park Group's public affairs division, engaging immediately on a range of public policy challenges faced by the firm's clients.
“Kevin is widely recognized for his strategic insight, extensive experience and unrivalled understanding of the national and political media,” said Chip Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Glover Park Group. “The Glover Park Group is engaged in some of the most challenging communications projects facing the world's most prominent companies, institutions and individuals – Kevin is ideally suited to help the teams that advise these clients.”
Madden most recently served as National Press Secretary and Senior Communications Strategist for Governor Mitt Romney's 2008 presidential campaign. He designed and executed a strategic communications effort that was hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “hard-working, well-organized and quick off-the-mark.” Madden directed the communications efforts designed to promote Governor Romney's major speeches, policy initiatives and political events.
Prior to joining Governor Romney's campaign, Madden served as Press Secretary to House Majority Leader John Boehner (R-OH). In that capacity, Madden served as the top communications strategist for the House of Representatives leadership office charged with directing legislative action on a wide range of issues including financial services, energy, national security, legal reform, transportation and telecommunications policy among others.
Before his work as a top leadership aide on Capitol Hill, Madden was appointed Deputy Director of Public Affairs at the United States Department of Justice and prior to that was a campaign spokesperson for the Bush-Cheney '04 re-election effort, serving as the president's campaign spokesman for regional, national and international news organizations.
