Jack Krumholtz Joins The Glover Park Group as Managing Director
July 15, 2009 |

WASHINGTON, D.C. – July 15, 2009 – The Glover Park Group announced today that Jack Krumholtz, a ground-breaking leader in government affairs and corporate reputation management, has joined the firm as a Managing Director in its Government Relations practice. Krumholtz founded, built, and led Microsoft’s Federal Government Affairs office for 14 years, serving as Managing Director and Associate General Counsel of the software giant.
“Jack is a leading expert on technology, trade, and antitrust policy, a superb counselor, and strategic communicator,” said Chip Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Glover Park Group. “He brings a rich portfolio of experience to GPG, and his insight will be invaluable to our company and our clients.”
Hailed as a “K Street Legend” by Politico, Krumholtz is widely recognized for developing Microsoft’s Washington presence into a model for how high-profile companies engage inside the Beltway. While at Microsoft, he designed and implemented advocacy strategies around intellectual property, immigration reform, online privacy, competition in the software industry, and international trade.
Krumholtz also played a key role in successfully shepherding the company through a complex Justice Department investigation and antitrust lawsuit that was settled in 2001. During his tenure at Microsoft, he regularly represented the company in hearings before Congress and in the media, oversaw its philanthropic activities in the nation’s capital, and strengthened its political action committee, building it into one of the largest in Washington.
“If there are professionals in Washington held in higher regard for their savvy, integrity, and intelligence, I haven’t met them,” said Joel Johnson, Managing Director of The Glover Park Group’s Government Relations practice. “We are extremely fortunate to be able to offer the quality of Jack’s counsel to our clients.”
Prior to his work with Microsoft, Krumholtz practiced legislative affairs at Verner, Liipfert, Bernhard, McPherson, and Hand in Washington, D.C. He is a cum laude graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania.
