WASHINGTON, D.C. - February 23, 2009 - The Glover Park Group, a leading strategic communications company, today announced the appointment of Clay Lowery to the position of Managing Director. He brings years of public policy experience from the Department of the Treasury, National Security Council, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

While at Treasury, Lowery advised Secretaries Rubin, Paulson, Summers and Snow, as well as National Security Advisor Rice on financial markets, financial regulation, and market crises. He also served as Special Assistant to then Under Secretary Tim Geithner during the financial crises of the late 1990s and recommended financial policy responses to National Security Advisor Rice in the aftermath of 9/11. In addition to his financial markets and crises experience, Lowery has worked extensively on international financial architecture. He helped craft the substance in the G20 leaders summit on the international financial crisis in November 2008 and oversaw U.S. Government interaction with almost every international financial institution, including the G7, G20, Financial Stability Forum (FSF), APEC, IMF, and World Bank.
In his new role, Mr. Lowery will advise GPG clients on the strategic, political, regulatory, and commercial implications of domestic and international financial system reforms, cross-border investment issues, and the changing international financial architecture.
