Respected Republican Veteran Joins Growing Government Relations Practice
WASHINGTON, D.C. – February 4, 2010 – The Glover Park Group announced today that Brian Gaston, a long time advisor to the House Republican leadership, is joining the firm as a Managing Director in its Government Affairs practice.
In his more than 25 years on Capitol Hill, including 15 years at the highest levels of leadership, Gaston has long been recognized as one of the Hill’s leading strategists, and an architect of some of the most important Republican legislative victories over the past decades.
“Few, if any, people understand the Hill and the legislative landscape better than Brian does: he is an expert on the issues and a respected mentor to many of the most successful strategists in Washington,” said Joel Johnson, Managing Director of The Glover Park Group’s Government Affairs practice. “His record speaks for itself; we are thrilled that he chose to join The Glover Park Group.”
Perennially named as one of Roll Call’s “Top 50 Congressional Staffers,” most recently Gaston served as Leadership Advisor to Rep. Roy Blunt (R-MO), a position he took after four years as Blunt’s Chief of Staff and two years as his policy director.
Prior to his service with Representative Blunt, Gaston was Policy Director to House Majority Leader Dick Armey, and Deputy Chief of Staff and Policy Director for House Republican Conference Chairman John Boehner.
“His proven ability to build relationships, coalitions, and advance legislation are highly regarded on both sides of the aisle,” said Chip Smith, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Glover Park Group. “We believe Brian will be an invaluable counselor and a terrific addition to our integrated offering.”
Gaston will join the firm in March. He is a cum laude graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service with B.S. in International Economics.
