Ryan Cunningham
Senior Vice President
Ryan Cunningham is a Senior Vice President in the Public Affairs division of The Glover Park Group, where his client portfolio includes the bulk of the firm’s industry-leading Energy | Sustainability Practice. His current and past work includes strategic communications counsel and execution for GE Energy, Iberdrola Renewables, the National Hydropower Association, Covanta Energy, Environmental Defense Fund’s Climate and Oceans programs, the World Wildlife Fund, Verizon and the Alliance for Climate Protection.
Prior to his work at The Glover Park Group, Cunningham served in the public affairs practice at Burson-Marsteller, where his clients included USAID’s Global Development Alliance, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, VF Corporation and AstraZeneca. In 2004, he served as Executive Director of the Kerry-Edwards Transition Planning Team, a group of media, legal, campaign and political experts that convened in advance of the 2004 presidential election. In 2003, Cunningham helped write and research the book Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the Right by Al Franken.
Cunningham earned a master’s degree in public policy from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and received a B.A. in government from the University of Texas at Austin.
