Matt Mandel
Vice President
Matt Mandel plays an integral role in government affairs, strategic planning, and public policy for The Glover Park Group’s telecommunications, technology and media clients. He has expertise in a wide variety of topics including privacy, data security, spectrum management, technological innovation and media policy. His clients include Verizon, the National Association of Broadcasters, News Corp., Viacom, and Epsilon.
Prior to joining GPG, Matt served 10 years as a legislative aide in the House of Representatives, most recently as the Legislative Director to Rep. Cliff Stearns (R-FL), a senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.Matt was Rep. Stearns’ chief legislative advisor on issues before the committee, including telecommunications, technology, energy, and consumer protection. Prior to this, Matt served as a Legislative Assistant to current House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and in the legislative department at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
Matt holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from American University and a Bachelor’s Degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. A native of Richmond, VA, he lives with his wife and son in Rockville, MD. Matt is also an Adjunct Professor in the Government Department at American University.
