Prior to joining GPG, Yang worked as a correspondent in BusinessWeek’s Washington, D.C. bureau for nineteen years, covering beats that included technology, telecommunications, media; law, international economics and monetary policy; and banking.  She also worked as a reporter for Forbes and USA Today. Yang received a B.A. from Yale University, an M.A. from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, and she earned her Master of Studies in Law (M.S.L.) from the Yale Law School as a Knight Foundation Fellow.
