Howard Wolfson is a Managing Director at The Glover Park Group, where he focuses on crisis management, complex integrated campaigns, and political advertising and communications. Wolfson’s clients have included Cablevision, Verizon, the New School, Newscorp, and the United Federation of Teachers.
Wolfson rejoined GPG in September, 2008 after a leave of absence during which he served as Communications Director for Senator Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. He also served as chief spokesman for Senator Clinton’s Senate campaign in 2000. Howard joined Glover Park after serving as Executive Director at the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) in 2001 and 2002. At the DCCC, he oversaw advertising in over 40 media markets and was responsible for a $50 million budget.
Wolfson got his start in politics working for his hometown Congresswoman, Nita M. Lowey and served as the Communications Director in both Charles M. Schumer and Hillary Rodham Clinton's first Senate campaigns.
Currently a contributor to the New Republic and on Fox News, Howard has made numerous appearances on television shows including Meet the Press, This Week, Larry King Live, Hardball, and Inside City Hall, and was named to New York Magazine's 35 Under 35, Details Magazine’s 50 under 42, and Crain's 40 under 40. He has been honored by Planned Parenthood for his work on behalf of reproductive rights, and was given The American Association of Political Consultants' Democratic Most Valuable Player award in 2001.
Wolfson graduated from the University of Chicago and subsequently earned a Masters in US History from Duke University. A New York native, he now splits his time between New York and Washington, DC, with his wife and daughter.
