When Norman Lear wanted to create a new organization designed to energize
youth voting in the 2004 elections, he turned to The Glover Park Group
to advise on launching a national campaign. Working with Princeton
Survey Research Associates and the Declare Yourself team, we helped
craft a landmark survey that analyzed youth voting and civic engagement
patterns, identified effective campaign messages and provided press
“hooks” to generate interest in the new effort. The Glover
Park Group helped Declare Yourself organize a massive launch event
in Washington, using the Crossfire studio and headlined by Norman
Lear, Drew Barrymore, Tucker Carlson and Paul Begala. The result was
coverage by a series of major outlets including CNN, MSNBC, The
New York Times and Washington Post.
